Conscious Archives : March
26, 2003 Synergy Project - Success Well What can I say the Tabernacle was a success. Imagine the layout ( for those who didn't go to the project): There were 3 rooms at the back. I was co-ordinating the Audio and the Visuals. We hired in someone specifically to do the visuals. One room consisted of a dedicated healing room. The other was for performance and the other was for information. The night was amazing. We had poetry of such a high level it was amazing. I supplied the music in two of the rooms mainly improvising in the moment. We had a peace flame that was co-ordinated by a member of IDSPIRAL (see www.idspiral.org) the flame was brought over by buddist monks a couple of years ago and is from a flame that has been burning from hiroshima all those years ago. The party was initiated with a conscious circle where people send messages into the centre. Words of peace and love were the subject of the day. Slogans like "Unite don't fight" and "love and light the way" and more. It was lovely . The night was spectacular. There was LIQUID chill (see www.theliquidconnective.org) who supplied ambient vibes that sent mellow inprovisations throughout the night. Also a main dancefloor supplied by ALTERED STATES. There was also the small world stage that supplied live bands. This time we managed to "breakeven" not bad. Ive been doing healing spaces in clubs for about 3 years now normally it comes out of my pocket.( with the exception of the liquid collective, who "normally" don't forget to pay their staff!). Next time I hope we will be able to pay the performers some money. I calculated that I worked for about 3 weeks making phone calls and organising the space. Slept about 2 hours between Friday and Saturday and only received my expenses. We ran a cafe in the space to raise some money, but that barely covered costs. I am feeling confident that the next event will yield a greater budget. This is very important if we are going to supply such a unique space. I was approached by people that suggested we create the space somewhere else.
