Some people call it the answer to modern day times.
Some use it to treat addictions. Some use it to meet there
ancestors. I used it to remove myself from some of those final parts
of me that I could not access.
The tribes of the Bwiti use IBOGA to initiate there warriors into
there tribe. The ceremony includes the ingesting the ground up root
bark until the initiate becomes enveloped in a dream like state. It
is in this dream like state where the "seer" is greeted
with visions to aid the recovery of the initiate. The tribes people
of the Bwiti only ever get initiated once. It is a three week long ceremony
and contains deep ceremony.
My Iboga initiation was in France. There was an
"initiate" from Africa who had all the hallmarks of a
tribal warrior. The room were we were to ingest the plant was
consisted of ten beds at ground level, the men on one side and the
women on the other. Everyone in the room was there to cure
something. Iboga is traditionally known to remove "ALL"
addictions. Research has proven the Iboga has a 95 success rate for
heroin addiction. Pharmaceuticals are suing each other to extract
the latest alcoloid. The alkaloids is the active ingredient in Iboga.
I believe that there are loads of alkaloids in Iboga. But in the
true tradition of consumerism. The boffs (nerds), what to make the
"anti-addiction" pill. The problem with this is that all
of the worlds economy is based on addiction. What happens when we
have a nation of addiction free people? The economy will die. We
will not have smokers, gamblers, prostitutes, drinkers, drug
addicts or shopaholics. So you can imagine there are a few people
out there not wanting this great change.
So back on to the ceremony.
Firstly we had to be cleansed. Men were given sacred oils made up of "offerings" and tribal formulae. All items of
clothing were removed and a cloth wrapped around the "cureists"
(people being cured).
The men wore black loin cloths wrapped around in the fashion only
adopted by the pygmies and the women wore a single red cloth
that were wrapped beautifully around their bodies. All
"initiates" were asked to leave the room. Each person was
lead in one by one and asked to state there intention of what they
wanted to achieve. This was a bit like confession in a church. I
asked to be guided to the next level of evolution and all my
negative traits to be removed. The tribal people at the front
of the room were traditionally there to represent your ancestors.
The message that I received from that moment was that out of every
six people that are present, they all contain some of our genetic
history so technically we are all walking amongst our ancestors. Or
at least the genetic blueprint of our ancestors.
The air that we breath today is the same air that all the great
prophets breathed in.
The second stage of the ceremony included giving an offering to
the ancestors. I have some amber essence that was given to me by
Tomy Atoma who recently took his life. I felt like it was an
important offering. We were also handed symbolic items that were
used for the ceremony.
All the ceremony was a little overwhelming it seemed like a crazy
cult but I understood the importance of keeping things sacred. Using
these plants without protection can lead to some very dangerous
outcomes. The ceremony is to raise the importance of key issues such
as sacrifice of a possession, confession and intent. Without this
arduous ceremony the mind may have wondered in to the wrong place
leaving the initiate all messed up.
There will be a new net book in the Library called IBOGA visions.
This is where I will give a detail description of what I saw. I'll
plan to interview some of the others that were there with me and
i'll compile the works during the week.
